OpenDinks ("OpenDinks," "we," "us," or "our") provides a platform that
pickleball clubs and their members use to book courts, join open play,
manage memberships, make payments, and discover events. This Privacy
Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it,
and the choices you have. It applies to our mobile apps and to our
websites at opendinks.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
Account & profile: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender (optional), profile photo, and skill/rating information.
Membership & club activity: the community you belong to, membership tier, bookings, check-ins, open-play sign-ups, and event registrations.
Payments: when you buy credit ("Pickles"), a membership, or other items, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number. We retain records of transactions (amount, date, description) and a card brand/last-4 reference returned by Stripe.
Communications: messages, support requests, and feedback you send us.
Information collected automatically
Device & usage: app version, device type/OS, log data, and in-app activity used to operate and improve the service.
Approximate location: used to help you find nearby clubs, courts, and events. We do not track precise background location.
2. How we use your information
Provide and operate the service — bookings, check-ins, open play, memberships, and events.
Process payments and maintain wallet/credit balances.
Communicate with you about your account, bookings, receipts, and support.
Personalize your experience, such as recommended sessions.
Maintain safety and security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms.
Comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share your information
With your club: staff and administrators of the community you join can see the information needed to run club operations (for example, your name, bookings, check-ins, membership status, and account activity at that club).
Service providers: we use trusted providers to run the service, including Google Firebase (hosting, database, authentication) and Stripe (payments). They process data only to provide services to us.
Legal & safety: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of OpenDinks, our users, or the public.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising in the app.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed
to provide the service, comply with legal and financial-record obligations,
resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of
your account as described below.
5. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect
your information, including access controls that limit sensitive contact
details to you and authorized administrators. No method of transmission or
storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
6. Your choices and rights
Access & update: view and edit your profile information in the app.
Marketing: opt out of marketing emails at any time; you will still receive essential account and transaction messages.
Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing us (see below). Some records may be retained where required by law.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.
7. Children's privacy
OpenDinks is intended for users 18 and older. Where a club enrolls a junior
participant, an account is managed by a parent or guardian, and junior
information is provided and controlled by that adult. We do not knowingly
collect personal information directly from children without appropriate
consent.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will
revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide
additional notice.
